Regular

Short adj/adv (1 syllable) :: tính từ ngắn, từ có 1âm tiết,

Short adj/adv → add -ER or - EST :: tính từ ngắn, từ có 1âm tiết, chỉ cần thêm hậu tố -ER hay - EST để thành lập tính từ so sánh.

adj/adv - Single vowel – single consonant → (double the consonant) + ER / EST:: tính từ có cấu tạo gồm 1nguyên âm - 1 phụ âm ở cuối chữ, thì cần lập lại phụ âm trước khi thêm hậu tố -ER hay - EST để thành lập tính từ so sánh.

Long adj/adv (>= 2 syllables) :: tính từ ngắn là từ có 2 âm tiết trờ lên,

More/ the most + Long adj/adv -ed / -ful / - ish / - ous.

More/ the most + Short/ Long adj/adv -some, - y, er, - el, - ow, -le.
