Simple past

Time expression : Prehistory, deadth, ancestor, during the 1840s, the early___, during the industrial revolution ( ® meaning finish)

Past progressive

Past perfect = had + pp

After + had + pp ® finish before another action (V-ed)

By (before) _____, had + pp.

Present

Simple present

Present progressive

Present perfect = have + pp ® finish before another action : liên quan đến hiện tại, kéo dài đến hiện tại

Time expressions : yet, already, often, as soon as, during the past few days, lately, recently, just, ever, never, so far = up to now = for some time now, frequently, finally, after, since, for, over the past few years, during the past three decades, by the end of.

Formular:

S + has/have (not) + pp + (yet)

S + has/have + yet + to-inf +

Present perfect progression: S + has/have + been + V-ing

Time expressions : for, since, all day (morning… )

Future

Simple future: will / shall + inf

Time expressions:

next time,

Future progressive: will / shall + be + V-ing

Time expressions

Future perfect: will / shall + have + pp

Time expressions : by…, by that time, by then, in a few hours, by the end of next year…

Note:

Don’t use perfect tense in time clause, except in reported speech.
